Media files are often necessary additions to any website. However, it’s easy for your WordPress Media Library to become full of unused files, which can slow down your website and make media management difficult. Fortunately, managing your Media Library need not be a cumbersome task. By cleaning it up regularly and optimizing your images appropriately, you can be sure your website (and its media contents) are operating at their best. In this video, we’ll discuss various ways to clean up your WordPress Media Library. We’ll then introduce three image cleanup plugins that can make the process easier. Let’s get started! The Media Library is a collection of your image, audio, and Flash files used to enhance your website, emails, or microsites. Accepted formats and sizes are below. Uploading to the Library. By default, WordPress stores all your images and media uploads in /wp-content/uploads/ folder on your server. All uploads are organized in a month and year based folders. You can view these folders by connecting to your WordPress site using an FTP client. ▶️ ▶️ How to find unused images in a large website. You might generate a list of all the images in or under your web root directory, then do a search in your web logs for the path to each specific image and count the occurrences. If the time-frame is sufficient, you'll get a good idea of what is not being used. Unattached files mean that the media file was uploaded directly to the media library, and not from within a post or page. If a media file was then added to a post or page after uploading to the media library, it is still considered Unattached. One of the easiest ways to unload storage space and keep your site running at its best is to delete all of your unused files and images. Select unattached filter and select the images which you want to remove and click on Delete Permanently. A popup will appear on screen. Clicking OK will remove the file from your Media Library ▶️ Gadgets & Tools I Use ◼️ Laptop - https://amzn.to/2LK5NrN ◼️ Cooling Pad - https://amzn.to/3cQRwWj ▶️ Subscribe https://bit.ly/YT-Khans-Tutorials ▶️ Stay Connected With us ◼ Facebook - https://bit.ly/khans-Tutorials https://bit.ly/MA-Khan ◼ Twitter – https://bit.ly/MeAtTwitter ◼ LinkedIn – https://bit.ly/MeAt-LinkedIn ◼ Pinterest – https://bit.ly/MeAtPinterest ▶️ Thanks Thanks for watching our video, subscribe to this channel for a more latest video like this, and also share this video on social media.
